Corporate websites are often the weakest link in security while carrying brand trust and business leads. Here are five defense lines that are most often overlooked.
One: enforce HTTPS site-wide. Deploy certificates, ensure every asset loads over HTTPS, and enable HSTS.
Two: harden admin entry points. Change default admin paths, limit login attempts and enable 2FA for backend accounts.
Three: patch dependencies promptly. Known vulnerabilities in CMS, plugins and frameworks are the main intrusion vector; establish routine inspection and updates.
Four: rehearse backups. A backup is not safety — recoverability is. Run periodic restore drills and keep off-site copies.
Five: put CDN and WAF in front. Hide the origin server, apply WAF rules and rate limiting to resist CC and distributed attacks.
